If, like us, you love a cosy evening in surrounded by the soft glow of candle light, be sure to understand how to keep safe and reduce the risk of accident.
Please follow the following advice on how to do so you can enjoy those nights in, worry free.
1. Please read the safety label that comes with your candle. This will advise on how to keep safe under the guidelines of the supplier.
2. Never leave your lit candle unattended or in reach of children and pets.
3. We advise you to place your candle on a flat surface and a heat resistant holder to protect your belongings.
4. Please keep away from draughts or flammable objects.
5. Keep your wick trimmed to approximately 10mm in length to control the height of the flame and the burn time.
6. Burn your candles for 3-4 hours at a time (1-2 for tea light candles) for optimum burn and longevity.
7. For pillar candles, please light as close to the wax as possible so the wax pool starts to melt. You'll find the pillar candle should then burn to approximately 1cm from the edge and the sides of the candle will start to curl inwards. As the candle continues to burn, it should become it's own holder.
8. Be mindful of the size of candle holder or lantern that you use, especially for pillar candles. If your candle holder is a different size, it may cause your candle to burn differently. To ensure good air flow, go by the general rule of having 3-4inches between the sides and the top of your candle and the lantern. Without this, your candle holder will act as a chimney and your candle will get very, very hot and burn quickly.
